Tasting Note

Pale, bright yellow, with green apple, stone fruit, citrus and a touch of fennel. Mineral and full, yet fresh, with a creamy texture from time on the lees.

Drink it with: white fish, simply cooked.

The Winemaking

A 24-hour cold soak, then fermentation in stainless steel at 15–17°C and four months on the lees. No oak.

The Vineyards

Ancient bush vines on clay with surface pebbles at about 600 metres, in soils low in organic matter.

The Producer

Bodegas y Viñedos Merayo pairs very old vines in Bierzo with a young, energetic winemaker, Juan Merayo. Even the entry-level wines come from vineyards planted more than 80 years ago.
