In 2021, Philipp Steegmüller took over the\u003cbr\u003ereins, born and bred in the Palatinate region, as a lover of fine wine and food; he is\u003cbr\u003ejoined by cellar master Gregor Hofer, to continue the Weingut Weegmüller story. The\u003cbr\u003evineyards are farmed organically and the yields are restricted to gain concentration\u003cbr\u003eand weight, resulting in wines that are wonderfully rich and food friendly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eVineyard\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe grapes are produced in the outstanding vineyard sites of the Mittelhaardt. Almost\u003cbr\u003e90% of Weingut Weegmuller's vineyards are located in the top classified region of\u003cbr\u003eHaardt. This district takes its name from the low-lying Haardt Mountains, which play a\u003cbr\u003evital role in the terroir here. The grapes for this wine come from a vineyard which is\u003cbr\u003esituated on one third Haardt soil and two thirds Neustadt soil. The soils are made up of\u003cbr\u003esand and clay over deep slate, which helps to impart a touch of minerality to the wine.\u003cbr\u003eThe name of the wine Mandelring, is thought to come from the German word Mandel,\u003cbr\u003emeaning almonds, as there may have been almond trees originally planted on the site.\u003cbr\u003eThe vineyards are cultivated as naturally as possible.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWinemaking\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003eGermany has revolutionised its winemaking over recent years. This wine epitomises the\u003cbr\u003enew style of German wines, which have a wonderful balance of fruit, acidity and\u003cbr\u003erelatively low alcohol. The wine was fermented in stainless steel at temperatures\u003cbr\u003econtrolled at approximately 18°C and was fermented through to dryness.
